Best Weekend Ever
I turned 26 this weekend. I also went rock climbing, saw two Dave Matthews shows, threw the third Again Faster Workout, and did a mean set of weighted chinups. Tomorrow, I'm going whitewater rafting.
What'd you do this weekend?
My twin brother, Tristan, came down from New Hampshire. He runs a landscaping company up there, and lives with his wife and two dogs. For the first time in a long time, we went rock climbing.
Along with John and Marcia, we went to Quincy Quarries. The gas gauge was buried on "E", but we weren't letting a little thing like gasoline slow us down.
We climbed three new routes. It was a great time. The weather was beautiful, and the Quarry was strangely quiet for a Saturday afternoon.
It was one adventure right after another. On Sunday morning, nine Again Faster athletes came together for One-Armed Rocky. EC, Thor, Jo, and Nick brought home the win, with a respectable time of 32:18. Josh, Dave, Sam, and Polly came in a close second, at 32:54.
For those of you who didn't read "One-Armed Rocky", here's a brief description:
There were four stations set up around the Pond. At each station, the team had to complete a prescribed number of reps, traveling between stations with weight overhead. Each team had three weights to carry--a 30, a 20, and a 15.
Station 1: 100 one-armed overhead squats
Station 2: 200 one-armed split jerks
Station 3: 200 one-armed snatches
Station 4: 100 sledge swings
They were allowed to complete the reps anyway they wanted, as long as they got them done. They got them done.
A 36-second loss meant the Masters of the Universe were doing burpees. They got through two reps by the time their colleagues joined them. It was a great display of comradarie, and I was very impressed. Great job, guys!
Next weekend, we'll have an entirely new challenge. If you've been thinking about joining us out at the Pond, now is the time. Elite athletes aren't born--they're created through hard work and perseverance.
Thanks to Tristan, Sam, Marcia, John, and the whole Again Faster crew for the Best Weekend Ever.
See you all next weekend!

Thanks to Jon for setting things up, and thanks to all who participated. Positive vibe is always contagious.
Nice to see the photo of me with the bent arm while everyone else's arm is perfectly vertical.

I loved the looks we got walking around the pond with weights over our head, we may be slightly crazy, but at least we have a great time ;)
Josh- we definitely need to get you a tougher tire, that thing took a beating. Nice job everyone (especially the Masters of the Universe) and thanks Jon!
Sam
